Just like last year the cost is $140, which covers your player insurance for the whole year, and the cost of ground hire. Its about a 50/50 split. So any future rosters we run (september-ish at this point) you'll be able to play for cheaper.
Summer Lacrosse Roster Is On
We are now playing lacrosse on sunday evenings, from 6 till 7 pm! We have had heaps of people turn up so it may run a bit longer.
Cost is $10/game or $30 for the 4 weeks.
It will finish on the 24th of February, so hurry along and we will see you soon!
Summer Roster
Well, we had an encouraging response from all you guys to the email that was sent out last week sometime.
So grab your stick and some mates, and get yourself along to the hockey centre, ground 3, sunday nights beginning 3rd of february, 6pm. We'll have an (organised) bash for 4 weeks and have a break until may sometime, but that's yet to be decided.
A note to those intending to bring some newcomers; This roster is all about having some fun and cruising around. It wont be as intense as the regular games, unless you want it to be. We also will be waiving the registration fees for new players (until we begin our normal roster again) so its financially the best time to bring friends, and its physically not as competitive so it will be more enjoyable...
We hope to see you all there!
Summer Roster
Hey all,
Is there anybody wanting to play lacrosse this summer, playing regular social rules?
We would really like to have a small (3 or 4 week roster) soon, starting the 3rd of February. It would be held Sunday evenings at the Tasmania Hockey Centre, just as last year (most likely around 6pm in the evenings). If you are interested and have anybody else that you can get interested can you please let us know by the 18th. You can do this by using the contact form and putting your name in the 'im interested in playing', or by leaving a comment on this post. Cost will be around $30-40 for the roster. If you bring along some new people, we will be awarding some kind of discount as an incentive. If we hear from no-one then there will be no season until later on in the year. But I don't want to wait that long, so please tell us that you are coming!
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who may have changed email addresses since our last competition last year too
Thanks,
The Lacrosse Tasmania Committee ;)
AGM 7th December
Hey all,
Just a reminder to those that know, and a heads up for everyone else;
Our AGM will be held at the rosny library (next door to the police headquarters/council) from 6:30 to whenever on Friday the 7th of December.
If you have some ideas as to how we could operate more effectively, please turn up and let it be known. As always, we'll be electing our committee too. This year, we are short one secretary and one treasurer. Jeremy is heading off to the ACT, and Steve is being hot in inland WA. So if you want some hands on action, or just something for a prospective resume come along.
We'll also be heading out afterwards to catch up on all the boatraces and such that that they wont let us do in the library.
For More Information...
If you would like any more information about lacrosse- or are keen to have a go, head over to the contact page and fill in the form with your details so we can contact you back!
We hope to hear from you soon!
(and no, we wont do anything tricky with your email address)

The Red Carpet Special that was covered by Channel 7 this year, was closely followed as husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, and friends all came together for the vote counts. With many different codes of dress sense,
Finals Report
The end of the second season for 2007 was rounded up on Sunday with the major talking point of the league being the Grand Final, which was one of the best matches for the season. Black Gold defeated Llamas, 10-8 in what was a stellar performance from both teams. With both teams being fierce rivals, the last time they played, the Llamas defeated Black Gold for the first time in the competition, 10-3. This was Black Gold’s first ever defeat and they were looking to redeem themselves after placing second on the ladder at the end of the season. But the ladder counted for nothing during this game. The contest started with Black Gold jumping off the blocks in fashion to score a goal in the first minute. Black Gold then stretched their lead early and it became a harder task for the Llamas to stay in contention. Llamas’ captain, Steve Kuhn made a blind mistake in a call, which he became furious about and was sent off the field just before half time. Black Gold headed in to the half-time break leading and looking to upset the minor premiers. The Llamas came out in the second half fired up and wanting to use their “x-factor” that they’ve used all season. That x-factor is their dominance in second halves. The Llamas came back and scores were tight with minutes to go. To Black Gold’s credit, they responded and eventually won the game and became back-to-back premiers. With a great amount of team play from both teams, it will be exciting to see who will win the MVP for the Grand Final – the Johnny Rafter Medal, at the Awards Presentation Dinner held for exclusive invitees by the TLA this Saturday at the Tasmanian Inn.
The Bronze Medal playoff was decided between the Raiders and Team Styles playing for pride. The game was well contested and wasn’t until the second half that the result was well and truly over with. With Emma Watson making a comeback appearance, she proved the difference in scoring 5 goals and leading the Raiders to victory in an 8-4 win. Team Styles came out to the game with force and showed that they were no pushover after defeating the Raiders in the last match they had played. The Raiders were obviously disappointed with their performance last time they played each other and weren’t ready to make the mistake again. After coming runners-up last season, they had pride on the line and made sure that they were’nt going to lose that anytime soon. Team Styles had improved a lot this season and looked to put that on the scoreboard but were unlucky with missed chances. Captain, D. Styles, was tough in goals and looked impressive early on with no goal being scored until the 11th minute of the match. Both teams then went on a scoring spree and the Raiders led at half- time. Team Styles lost stamina in the second half, and couldn’t keep up with the raging attack by the Raiders, and eventually lost the match.
